BETH AMI CONGREGATION

Our Clergy

Rabbi Eli Kavon, our spiritual leader is a yeshiva-educated, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Columbia University, where he studied Comparative Religion and History. He received his Master's degree in Jewish Studies from the Spertus Institute in Chicago. Rabbi Kavon is on the faculty of Nova Southeastern University's Lifelong Learning Institute. His essays have appeared in The Jerusalem Report, The Jerusalem Post, and the Zionist journal Midstream. Rabbi Kavon brings to the pulpit at Beth Ami Congregation a respect for tradition, a keen interest in the academic study of Judaism, and a yearning to bring a modern sense of spirituality to prayer and study.

Cantor Dr. Elliott Dicker is an excellent and talented Hazzan, with a feeling heart and the gift of a golden voice.  His classic, yet modern, cantorial style will captivate you and lift you to heights of spiritual enjoyment. He was ordained by Hebrew Union College's School of Sacred Music, and he is a board member of the Cantor's Assembly. He has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the HUC.
